Contrary to another review, no, not every router can be an access point as is erroneously stated. I've been a network professional for 20 years now and I can tell you I have worked with countless routers during that time and none, except those specifically designed as such, are access points nor are they even capable of being an access point (they are capable of having an access point connected to them via wire).

Calling this product a wireless router would be more accurate as a wireless router is a router (with appropriate services functionality) and an access point combined. This is all just semantics anyway and Cisco is not misleading anyone here. They are bundling an easy on the eyes wireless router with café-styled hotspot ease of use client functionality and easy to use configuration software and for that you are paying a premium, that's all. Perfect for a non-tech savvy person and definitely easier to perform client setup if you have outside client users needing quick access to your wireless network.
